Senior Staff Accountant – Construction – Base Salary to 90k/year – Owings Mills, MD
- Our client, a well-established construction products company, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for their location south of Hunt Valley, MD.
- Project and / or Public Accounting with supervisory experience is ideal for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in month end close
- Review the General Ledger for accuracy
- Assist CFO/Controller in day-to-day operations
- Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, loan statements, etc.
- Review vendor creation & contractor documents
- Assist in yearend review procedures
- Assist the CFO/Controller in quarterly reviews of A/R and A/P aging schedules
- Maintain schedules to include fixed assets, prepaids and notes payable
- Manage Sales & Use tax recording and reporting
- Aid in internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance
- Maintain WIP Report
- Assist in handling credit card transaction coding and receipts
- Assist with accounting for various entities as necessary
- Ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 3+ Years Accounting Experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Construction Industry or Project accounting preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytic abilities
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k - 90k/year based on experience; negotiable if offering CPA or supervisory experience
